"Project X"- Hybrid Homeschooling

Project X Applications

Project X is currently full for the 18-19 school year. We are taking applications for the 7th grade waitlist and expect to have one or two spots open up by August, when school starts.

In order to apply for Project X, students must be either a current PACT student or a have a completed new student application on file. Once you have submitted your new student application and brought in supplemental materials, you may also apply for Project X for 7th grade 18-19 school year.

(The application link goes to a Google doc and will ask you to make a digital copy. You may also pick up a paper application in our office.)

What is Project X?

Project X is a hybrid independent study model that includes two full days of classroom instruction in core subjects. Students then work independently three days of the week. Students have individually differentiated math instruction, in addition to classes in history, science, writing across the disciplines, small group tutoring, advisory period and an elective option!

This program allows independent learners to schedule their homework around their lives instead of cramming it in at night between soccer practice, ballet rehearsals, or family life. The program includes instruction in organizational strategies, time management and study skills to help those planning to transition to a more traditional high school setting. Students can also attend the numerous activities, field trips and social events at PACT.

In order for a student to be most successful, a responsible adult will work with the student at home on Monday/Wednesday/Friday to ensure that the student is staying on track with assignments.

Students absolutely must have internet access and a reliable computer at home.
